The German mechanical engineering company Körber Hungária Gépgyártó Kft. has hired 140 employees at its Pécs site since the beginning of the year due to improved capacity utilization. The company now employs more than 1,300 people.
In addition, products that had previously been outsourced to other group facilities have been brought back to southern Hungary. The focus of the portfolio has shifted from the tobacco industry toward the pharmaceutical and paper industries.
The Hungarian site is also increasingly providing IT services for the entire group. High added value is additionally generated through centralized procurement operations, which the Hamburg-based Körber AG coordinates in Pécs with regard to approximately 1,300 suppliers.
