Croatian network operator Plinacro and Hungarian gas transmission company Földgázszállító Zrt. (FGSZ) have reached an agreement to increase the capacity of the cross-border natural gas pipeline between Croatia and Hungary.
According to a joint statement by the two companies, transport capacity at the Drávaszerdahely–Donji Miholjac border crossing from Croatia to Hungary will be increased from the current 200,000 to 400,000 standard cubic meters per hour.
The expanded capacity is scheduled to become available from December 31, 2026.
The expansion will enable larger quantities of natural gas to be transported from Croatia to Hungary. This will strengthen energy links between the two countries and improve the security of Hungary’s energy supply as well as that of the wider region.
