Just around eight months after the start of series production, three-shift operations have already been introduced in Debrecen, faster than ever before at a new BMW Group plant. More than 5,000 employees are now working in Debrecen. The switch to 24-hour operations has become necessary in response to strong customer demand for the BMW iX3 models.
More than 100,000 orders for the Neue Klasse iX3 have already been placed in Europe. The 50,000th vehicle was also recently celebrated at the Hungarian plant.
Building on its achievements to date, the Debrecen plant is ready for the next step: series production of a second Neue Klasse model is scheduled to begin in Debrecen in autumn 2026. The iX4 coupé variant is currently considered the leading candidate.
