Hungary Airlines – Additional cargo aircraft

May 29, 2026

As part of the cooperation between Fly Meta and Hungary Airlines, another Boeing 777 cargo aircraft is entering service.

The aircraft is owned by AerCap, one of the world’s largest aircraft leasing companies, which signed an agreement in 2023 with Hong Kong-based Fly Meta for four converted Boeing 777 freighters.

Fly Meta leases the Boeing 777, while operations are provided by Air Atlanta Icelandic under the Hungary Airlines brand. This demonstrates that Hungary Airlines’ current business model functions more as a logistics platform based on international partnerships rather than as a traditional independent airline.

Earlier this spring, Hungary Airlines took delivery of its first converted Airbus A330-200(P2F) freighter. The aircraft was supplied by the Chinese company ZTO Express as part of a partnership and is primarily used for e-commerce cargo transport between Europe and China.
