MVM Group – Solar strategy already fulfilled

A subsidiary of the MVM Group buys a huge solar power plant in Tázlár. MVM Zöld Generáció Kft. acquires the solar park with an installed capacity of 63 MW from a consortium. The investors of the park were MET Green Asset Holding AG, the forwarding company MASPED Zrt. and the asset management company HO-ME 2000 Kft. 115,000 panels have been installed on an area of more than 100 hectares, which can generate 85,000 MWh of green electricity per year.

MVM, the state-owned energy holding company, has set a strategic goal of increasing its solar portfolio to 600 MW, two-thirds of which had been achieved by the summer. Just before Christmas, the MVM group announced that it had achieved its strategy.

A recent government decree grants the state a right of first refusal on commercial solar installations. If the state exercises this option, it is obliged to transfer the acquired capacity to MVM Group within six months.
