Following a strategic decision, the OTP Group’s e-commerce platform will be phased out.
The OTP startup fizz.hu is ceasing operations less than a year after its launch, following the rapid expansion of foreign multinational companies in the Hungarian e-commerce market. In a statement, the OTP Group described fizz.hu as an innovative initiative designed to develop new digital solutions and reach a broad customer base with the goal of becoming a leading player in e-commerce.
The e-commerce market has undergone profound changes in recent years. Expected growth failed to materialize, and in addition to an unfavorable macroeconomic environment, competition took an unexpected turn as new global and regional players entered the Hungarian market.
