WKW’s German parent company has decided that WKW Hungária Kft. will cease operations in Győr by the end of the year, citing the impact of the economic situation.
The Hungarian subsidiary has officially informed its workforce that, due to the ongoing crisis in the European automotive industry, restructuring, and declining orders, the Győr site will be liquidated and closed without a legal successor as of December 31, 2026. Around 500 jobs will be lost as a result.
The company’s product range consists mainly of decorative and functional components such as trim strips, roof rail systems, and body parts made of aluminum, stainless steel, and plastic. The parts manufactured in Győr were supplied directly to premium carmakers including Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, and Porsche.
