Listed company 4iG Nyrt. is setting up its new energy division as an independent holding company. As part of its entry into the energy sector, the 4iG Group has taken two interlinked strategic steps involving Poland and a US firm.
As a first major step, 4iG has signed a letter of intent with the US company X-Energy. The aim is the regional deployment of Xe-100 small modular reactors (SMRs) across Central and Eastern Europe and the Western Balkans. Among other things, these reactors are intended to help meet the substantial electricity demand of 4iG’s own energy-intensive IT and data center infrastructure.
The partnership also includes the acquisition of a wind farm in Poland, as well as the possibility of combined projects involving wind turbines and battery storage systems in North Macedonia and Montenegro.
4iG intends to bring further international investors and technology partners into the development of this portfolio.
