Hankook – Plant Expansion in Rácalmás

September 24, 2026

South Korean tire manufacturer Hankook has expanded its plant in Rácalmás (Fejér County) with an investment volume of EUR 540 million (around HUF 200 billion). Production of truck and bus tires is scheduled to start in October. The new plant has an annual production capacity of more than 800,000 units.

The fourth expansion phase, which began in 2024, includes around 66,000 square meters of new production and service buildings, as well as a new production line for truck and bus tires. With the new production line, Hankook is creating more than 450 jobs. Since 2007, around €856 million has been invested in the plant in three expansion phases. The third phase was completed in spring 2015, bringing the annual capacity of the Rácalmás plant to 17 million tires for passenger cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles.
