MOL is investing HUF 5.5 billion (approx. EUR 15 million) in the construction of a new gathering station in the Vecsés region, which accounts for around 30% of the company’s domestic crude oil production.
The facility, with a daily capacity of 750 m³, will take over production from the Vecsés-1, Vecsés-2 and Vecsés-3 wells. The investment is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026, with commissioning planned for early 2027.
Vecsés and the surrounding region have developed into an important hydrocarbon production site in Hungary in recent years. The Vecsés-2 well began production in 2022, followed by Vecsés-1 and Vecsés-3 in 2024. So far, the three wells have produced more than half a million tonnes of crude oil in total.
MOL is Hungary’s largest hydrocarbon producer, extracting from nearly 1,300 oil and gas wells. Last year, the company produced 47% of Hungarian crude oil (over 600,000 t) and almost 76% of natural gas (nearly 1.5 billion m³).
