ABB – Capacity expansion in Kecskemét

ABB is expanding the capacity of its production plant in Kecskemét with an investment of more than HUF 5 billion (approx. EUR 14 million).

The investment by the Swiss industrial group is part of ABB’s USD 200 million development program across several European countries, aimed at expanding production capacities for critical medium-voltage cable accessories, grid infrastructure, and automation technologies. ABB is responding to rising electricity demand driven by data centers, electric vehicles, and industry.

The products manufactured at the Kecskemét plant are mainly used by European energy providers and renewable energy customers, but are also available in India and Southeast Asia.

The Kecskemét facility covers more than 12,500 square meters and employs nearly 200 full-time workers. ABB is a global technology company active in the fields of energy and automation, employing around 110,000 people worldwide. Its Hungarian subsidiary, ABB Kft., was founded in 1991.
