The Japanese car manufacturer will invest an additional HUF 76 billion (approximately EUR 210 million) in its vehicle manufacturing plant in Esztergom. The new investment is intended to prepare the facility for the transition to electric powertrains.
Magyar Suzuki Zrt. employs around 2,800 people, with approximately 90% of its production destined for export. The Esztergom plant currently manufactures the Vitara and S-Cross in hybrid versions.
Last year, the Esztergom facility produced 108,000 passenger cars, which were exported to more than 100 countries worldwide. The company’s net sales revenue declined from EUR 2.25 billion to EUR 2.06 billion.
