Magyar Vagon Kft. has won a tender issued by rail vehicle leasing company Leo Mobility Management (LMM) for the production of the first series of 200 modular NEO passenger coaches. The coaches are designed for speeds of up to 200 km/h.
LMM will subsequently lease these vehicles to European railway operators. The production period is expected to take around two years. An important factor in selecting the winner was that the Hungarian company Magyar Vagon Vasúti Kft. (MVV) is a supplier with a wholly European background. Other decisive factors included manufacturing flexibility, delivery reliability, production quality and the final price.
MVV Kft.’s net sales revenue increased in 2025 from HUF 56.8 billion (EUR 154.3 million) to HUF 72.6 billion (EUR 197.2 million), while net profit rose from HUF 5.0 billion (EUR 13.5 million) to HUF 5.7 billion (EUR 15.4 million).
